Robina Floors is introducing a new collection of laminates that will help retailers to tailor the selling story to their customers’ needs.
Homeowners are still buying but their purse strings are a little tighter. Not surprisingly, they are more discriminating and want real value for their money.
Our new laminate line can be subdivided into three categories:
The Everyday Series
Dedicated to providing quality, style and selection at affordable prices.
This line consists of six products, three handscraped 5 5/8” x 8.3mm and three textured at 7 ¾” x 8.3mm
They carry a ten-year residential warranty
The Heavyweight Series
Made extra strong, this floor will endure the toughest high-traffic areas in the home. Classified as AC4 it is also approved for light commercial applications, such as offices.
There are eight products in this category at 5” x 12.3mm textured.
The Heavyweight Series comes with a 25-year residential and lifetime structural warranty
The Designer Series
Offers high quality, superior decors and current innovations.
Four products are high-definition handscraped and embossed, the ultimate in detail.
Four products are high-gloss and ultra smooth that mirrors the look of prefinished wood
Dimensions for both are 5” x 12.3mm with an AC3 abrasion classification.
They carry a 15-year residential warranty.
All products come with the revolutionary Valinge locking system.
They are shown in a display featuring twenty-two sample boards.
Mark Suplee, Sr. VP of Sales states: “We are very proud of this new product offering because it will make the selling process easier. It’s not so much about upselling anymore than it is about making the sale - period. It’s become more important to customize the offer to the consumer’s life style, her sense of fashion and her budget – in that order. We believe the Associate on the floor can do that with a one-stop display: Robina’s.”
You may not know: Robina is vertically integrated. The company owns 65,000 acres of forest land in both China and Malaysia. Since 2005, over one million trees have been planted on the plantations. This ensures a sustainable, economical and long-term resource for raw materials. In 2008 Robina set the bar for excellence in their MDF plant, achieving a world record with its Metso press line producing 90.2 m/min of medium density fiberboard. The combination of sustainable practices and ultra modern equipment translates into competitive advantage for the distributor, retailer and ultimately, the consumer.

| Hartwig Siemerling retires, Jason Loh takes over as Presdent - Friday, October 31, 2008Kennesaw, October 30th, 2008
After more than a decade in the flooring business and three years as the CEO and leader of Robina Floors in Georgia, Hartwig Siemerling is retiring.
Mr. Siemerling was at the vanguard of the locking laminate development in Germany and significantly influenced how laminate is made and installed today.
After working for Gemu Valves Inc. Hartwig joined Witex USA in the capacity of COO in 1997. In 2001 he became the CEO to help build that company to a multi million dollar enterprise. His deep product knowledge and a keen sense of what the market will demand resulted in several very successful collections.
In 2005, he became CEO of Robina Floors and brought the company through the start-up phase to where it is today. Its high-end engineered hardwood flooring is distributed almost seamlessly across the entire United States. Developing the line with the 5G Vaelinge lock was another example of his uncanny ability to look beyond the horizon into the future.
Mr. Siemerling’s core values of honesty and integrity are very much part of how he conducted business. His close relationships, whether with customers or competitors, have earned him the reputation of a gentleman.
Taking over for Mr. Siemerling as President of Robina Floors is Jason Loh, the grandson of the founder of the vast Robin Group. Mr. Loh brings to Robina a wealth of knowledge, both as a corporate leader and as an experienced entrepreneur. Prior to Robina, Mr. Loh founded Redwood Trading Group, an import company of building materials and accessories. As the president of Redwood, Mr. Loh successfully guided the company to multi-million dollar sales within two years. In the corporate world, Mr. Loh had ample experience consulting for major Fortune 100 financial services and high technology clients as a management consultant with both BearingPoint and Andersen Consulting.
In his native Singapore, Mr. Loh holds a commission as an infantry officer in the Singapore Armed Forces. He served as a rifle platoon commander and held various battalion and brigade level appointments.
Mr. Loh completed his undergraduate studies in industrial administration as well as his graduate degree in information systems at Carnegie Mellon University. In his commitment to continued education, he has also completed various certificate programs in finance and revenue management at the Harvard Business School and Cornell University.
Mr. Loh will be assisted by Jimmy Yeh, CFO and Executive Vice President, whose extensive knowledge of international and domestic financial issues has already afforded Robina strategic and competitive advantages.
The Robina Management Team with Jason Loh as President, will take up the reigns and continue to build Robina Floors to become the leading provider of locking flooring products.

| Robina signs T&G Hardwood, Professional Hardwood and Forte Hardwood Flooring! - Tuesday, July 01, 2008Continuing on the quest to gain distribution across the country, Robina Floors has signed a distribution agreement with T&G Hardwood. Founded in 1995 and owned by Gregg Patterson, T&G covers the Upper Midwest. The company specializes in hardwood flooring and consequently employs an extremely knowledgeable staff. Mary Ellen Kollmer, Sales and Marketing Manager, expects the Robina products to be very successful because of the combination of the engineered structure and the VR Loc. “This is like a glimpse into the future. We will spend time with our customers, educating them about the products because the benefits – time and money saved in installation and finishing – are such a great advantage.”
Gregg also owns Professional Hardwood in the thriving Shelby Township of Michigan. Professional Hardwood covers Northwest Ohio and Michigan. They are four years young but the employees are seasoned hardwood experts. Specializing in prefinished and unfinished wood, they also carry a full line of accessories and tools, making them a one-stop shop for their customers. Customer Service is one of the core values of the company. Dennis Sacco, VP of Sales and Marketing considers Robina the “perfect fit” for Professional Hardwood. “They have a high-quality product with a unique locking system at a fair price. That translates to happy retailers and ultimately – happy home owners.”
Forte Hardwood Flooring (aka G.W. Lumber & Millwork) is a Vermont-based company that has been in business for 20 years. It is unique in that Forte also has a stair component manufacturing arm that lends product support for every collection they carry. So, Robina’s products can be perfectly matched in a handrail or stairstep. Gerry Wilcox, President of Forte, appreciates the thought that went into the Robina line. He said “it’s well rounded, offers the sizes we need and the displays are attractive.” Forte covers Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and parts of New York and Connecticut for Robina.
“At a difficult time in our industry, we are still expanding our distribution coverage by carefully choosing partners that share our philosophy. We strive to give the customer the best possible value, whether in business relationships or product offering. These three companies have already clearly demonstrated that they operate on the same principles,” states Hartwig Siemerling, CEO of Robina Floors.

Hartwig Siemerling, CEO of Robina Floors has reorganized the sales structure of the company to better serve the distributors and retailers. “When a company is young it makes sense to penetrate the market with agents and brokers to quickly gain a foothold for the brand. Once the organization reaches a more mature stage, you need a solid sales structure comprised of employees who focus 100% on our customers. We have almost finished that process and are happy with the early signs of success. We are making a large investment in our future at a difficult time in the flooring industry but we are confident that this is the right decision.”
With that, Mr. Siemerling is announcing three new additions to the Robina Sales Team: Regional Managers Frank Suplee, Michael Weise and David Britt.
Frank Suplee is based in Pennsylvania and is responsible for sales in VA, West VA, KY, PA, OH, DE, MD, NJ, NY, RI, CT, MA, NH, VT and Maine. He has worked in the flooring industry for 23 years and he brings with him a deep knowledge of his market. He was with Ardex and Tec Specialty Products before joining Robina.
Michael hails from Minnesota and Award Hardwood Floors. He was with Mannington before that. Mike also spent time with Herregan Distribution, giving him a unique perspective, by having worked on “both sides of the fence”. His sales area encompasses the Midwest, including ND, SD, NE, MN, IA, WI, IL and MO. Mike has been in the flooring business for over 20 years in varying capacities. His extensive experience will open up the market in an area where Robina was under-represented in the past.
David Britt’s area is the Southwest (NM, CO, KS, OK and TX) and parts of the Deep South. David has been in the industry for 27 years, the last 13 of which he spent working for Formica and Witex. “Robina is on the leading edge of the glueless hardwood technology. I’m convinced that this will be the wood flooring of the future, so it’s exciting to be part of this team.”
